Terms of Use
Last updated 17 October 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Urban Break. Please read them with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. By using Urban Break you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Urban Break ("we", "us") is run by Santhosh Devadiga, an individual in India. You can reach us at santhoshrdevadiga@gmail.com. Urban Break is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000: we host what people share and help them find others to travel with; we don't organise, run or supervise the trips themselves.
2. Who can use Urban Break
- You must be 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect data about anyone younger; if we learn an account belongs to a child, we delete it.
- One account per person, in your real name. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
- You can't use Urban Break if we've banned you before, or if Indian law doesn't allow you to.
3. Trips are between the people who go on them
- Trips are planned by members, not by us. Organisers decide who joins; members decide whether to go. We don't check vehicles, licences, routes, permits or anyone's background.
- Travel, riding and trekking carry real risks. Follow the law (helmets, licences, permits, forest and wildlife rules), check the weather, tell someone at home (the family link helps), and don't go if something feels wrong.
- Any money you share for a trip (fuel, stay, tickets) is between you and the other members. Never pay anyone in advance whom you haven't met; we will never ask you for money.
- Places information (timings, fees, permits, seasons) is researched carefully but can be out of date. Check with the official source before you go.
4. What you share
- You own your photos, posts and messages. By sharing them you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, show and resize them so the app can work (for example, showing an "Everyone" post on Explore and its place page). The licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies we must keep by law (section 8).
- You choose who sees each post: Everyone, Buddies, Close friends or Only me. A private profile keeps your posts out of Explore.
- Only share what you have the right to share. Don't post other people's photos without their consent, and never anyone's intimate images.
- Everything you share must follow our Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms.
5. Keeping Urban Break safe
We check text automatically for clear violations (threats, sexual content, scams, hate) and may hold it for a moderator before others see it. People can report anything; a post, photo or message reported by several people, or reported as an intimate image or a danger to a child, is hidden until a moderator decides.
When something breaks the rules we may remove it, warn you, give a strike (posting and new chats paused for 24 hours, then 7 days), and suspend the account after three strikes in 90 days. Serious cases (child sexual abuse material, credible threats, sharing someone's intimate images, organised scams) lead to an immediate ban and, where the law requires, a report to the police. We tell you what we did and why, and you can appeal once from Profile → Account status.
We follow lawful orders from courts and the government, and may share information with authorised agencies as the law requires.
6. Limits on what we promise
Urban Break is provided free, as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for what members do on or off the app, for trips, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer law that can't be limited.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account any time from Profile. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms. Some records are kept for a limited time after deletion where the law requires it (section 8).
8. Records we must keep
Under the IT Rules 2021 we keep the registration record of a deleted account, and content removed for breaking the rules, for 180 days in a locked store, so it's available for investigations. It's deleted automatically after that unless a court or authority asks us to keep it longer.
9. Complaints and disputes
Our Grievance Officer is Santhosh Devadiga (santhoshrdevadiga@gmail.com). Use the grievance form: we acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days (removal requests within 72 hours; intimate images of you within 24 hours). If you're not satisfied you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee at gac.gov.in within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India; courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction.
10. Changes
If we change these Terms in a way that matters, we'll ask you to accept them again in the app. We'll also remind everyone of the rules at least once a year.
